What are Mala Beads?
Mala Beads are beautiful strings of beads used in meditation and mindfulness practices, and they originated from ancient spiritual traditions, often used across many different religions.
Each Mala typically consists of 108 beads, with one larger bead known as the guru bead. Mala Beads are used to help focus the mind during meditation by counting repetitions of a mantra or affirmations.
They serve as a tactile reminder to stay present and centered, with each bead representing a breath or a mantra repetition. Beyond their practical use, Mala Beads are also cherished as meaningful jewelry pieces, adorned with symbols and gemstones that hold personal significance.
Whether worn as a necklace or used in meditation, Mala Beads carry a sense of intention, mindfulness, and spiritual connection.
